Anyway, this certain blessing in disguise came to us on June 4, and grew up to be a hefty 5’4”. You can always tell it's Harley because of their blonde hair, blue eyes and warm smile. You know, everyone says they look like Amanda Seyfried? I personally don't see it though ....

what everyone knows
Harley Savoy has been known throughout her entire life as the bubbly, friendly, and fun girl who was only the subject of ridicule when she had one of her many blonde moments. She’s quite intelligent, but sometimes her lack of common sense is overwhelming. She has been known to lose her keys almost every day and probably spends as much time sleeping in her friends’ rooms for this reason as she sleeps in her own. Don’t get her wrong, though. She isn’t necessarily forgetful, she just don’t always exercise her memory. She knows more about geology than some lecturers she’s heard speak. She can identify almost any rock within seconds of seeing it. This knowledge and interest comes from her ability to become one. That’s right. Harley is an inorganic shapeshifter, meaning she can become any object that has never been alive, but she specializes in rocks. This, paired with her abysmal common sense, has given the other students motive to dub her “dumber than a box of rocks,” but she doesn’t mind much. Also she's a junior.
BELOW THE SURFACE

Harls loves love. She wants to fall head over heels for a man who can woo her. She wants to live a fairy tale romance and be treated like a princess. She is also very aware of the unlikelihood of this coming true. She’s seen what love has done to her mother but she won’t let herself be completely discouraged. She tries to be careful but she doesn’t always have the best judgement. She’s had some bad experiences in the past but she works past them, more for her mother than for herself. She knows how hard her mother works to give her a good life. She doesn’t want to disappoint her by ruining it. Harley also can get a bit mean sometimes, if people are taking the joke about her being stupid too far, or if people aren’t respecting themselves or others. She’s huge about respect. She hates to see girls believing they aren’t good enough just because a boy said so. That sort of thing. Also, she gets very clingy and attached to her friends, to the point of where it’s annoying almost. She wants to be a geologist when she grows up.
THE DARKEST CORNERS

Harley is still damaged from a secret relationship. She told no one about Bennett, because she knew no one would approve of him. This told her that there was something wrong with the relationship, but she didn’t care, because he was everything she wanted him to be. He was tall, dark, and handsome, and he was older, and he was stronger, and he could do no wrong in her eyes. They were quick about things, planning out their future very elaborately after only three dates. But it only takes so long for a twenty-five year old to get bored of a sixteen year old. He dropped her just as quickly as he’d picked her up, and she’s heartbroken about it, but since no one knew about him and no one can know about him, she has to put on a front and pretend she’s okay. Also, though she wouldn’t ever admit it, she sometimes gets frustrated with her mother. She feels that she’s too young to have to take care of her mother and it isn’t fair.
