[/classy][classy=cont] [/classy] [classy=threader] Venice usually loathed staying on campus, but the fields were a place that she didn't mind too much. It was outdoors, and if you were there when the other students weren't playing sports, it could be peaceful. Being able to sense everyone else's feelings got to be too much for her, a lot. She either needed silence, or something that put her in a total different state. It was a bit too early for the latter, so Venice had decided on the first. It was early in the evening, and the fields were not as occupied as normal. Right after school, people liked to hang out there or play sports there. But at this time, people started to go inside to start homework, or they'd at least try to leave the school. Venice liked to be different. When she wasn't hanging out with people, she was here or at the beach, trying to forget about how other people felt. It was fairly chilly outside, so she was wearing a coat over her casual outfit, with jeans; it was cold enough for her breath to be visible. She shivered a bit before launching into a full-on spring across the fields. Running had always been one of Venice's favorite things to do, as it gave her an adrenaline high. Besides, the feel of the wind blowing through her hair was simply incomparable to anything else. Venice was breathing heavily as she ran around the field, before finally collapsing and laying in the grass, to relax and catch her breath. She reached into her bag and pulled out a water bottle, drinking out of it as she watched the sun finally set. Venice was eventually left staring out into darkness, only to be joined by someone else. The whole island in general, really. Granted, she was a hell of a lot better off here than she had been back in her hometown, but where wasn't she? The fiery redhead blinked away the thoughts of the 'home' she had grown up in. This wasn't a time to get lost in those wretched thoughts. Actually, never would be more like it. A deep sigh echoed out of her lips as she surveyed her surroundings. She was slightly surprised [and disappointed] to find out where she had ventured off to. All this walking and all she had come to was a field. A field. Not exactly her ideal hangout spot, but then again, what was? This was as good as anything. This island probably couldn't do any better. She was aware of her cynical nature, but she couldn't care less. The girl with the red hair found it more enjoyable than giving anything and everything the benefit of the doubt. No, they had to earn that right. It suddenly hit her. She wasn't alone. So lost in her thoughts she had been that she hadn't noticed the girl that lay in the grass, gazing upwards. Rora followed her line of sight, flicking her pretty head upward, trying to see what was so fascinating. It was.. just sky. That's all. Just sky. A frown creased her brow and her green eyes narrowed at the girl. Through the darkness, she couldn't see any of her features, and had no idea how she looked. What the hell. She sat down next to the girl who was lying in the field, as if it was the most casual thing to sit down beside a total stranger. At least, it wasn't for her. The damned voice that was constantly in her head cursed a string of profanity towards her, scolding the naive girl. Who knows? Maybe she could have a knife hidden in her belt, ready to - She cut the voice off, yanking it down into the corner of her mind. Stay. A light sigh escaped her mouth as she moved her eyes so they glanced up at the sky, along with the girl next to her. " Something new with the stars?" Her voice was mocking, sarcastic. After all, that was the language she best spoke. [/classy]

[/classy][classy=cont] [/classy] [classy=threader] Venice wasn't really one to sit still and do nothing, but she was definitely a daydreamer. She'd get lost in her thoughts and her own little world, going into a little faze until someone took her out of it. That was why she was staring at the sky, and also partly because the stars were pretty and she liked to look at them. It wasn't often that she got a chance to do that, because usually she'd want to do anything but get lost in her thoughts, which usually meant going to a party or finding someone to hook up with. Tonight was different, if only because she was feeling a bit happier than she usually was. And so, when she heard a sarcastic tone in the person who joined her, she wasn't phased. "Something new with the stars?" Venice shook her head and looked over to see who it was, only to find it was Aurore Darnell. Venice and Aurore usually got along, but they did have frequent fights. The only reason they could really stand to be friends was because Venice knew that when Aurore said something to her, regardless of the tone, it wasn't necessarily an insult or an attack. That was the beauty of being an empath. If it had been one of those moments where Venice couldn't really tell what someone else was feeling, she probably would have taken offense to the comment, but she knew that Aurore's question was oddly genuine. "Not really, I like looking at the stars, even if you don't," she explained calmly, making sure she didn't lose her temper. She had definitely inherited her father's temper, anyone who had gotten into a fight with her would agree, but she didn't like to do anything that reminded her of him. Her blue eyes turned to eye the redhead, curiously. "What brings you out here, if it's not the stars? I highly doubt you were looking for my company," Venice said with a nod, knowing that Aurore probably would not go out of her way to find Venice unless it was to yell at her or something like that. She liked to think she knew people well, even though it was the complete opposite. [/classy]

Quite frankly, Rora was bored with stars. She much preferred the light of the daytime. She couldn't exactly keep an eye on people when it was dark. It wasn't the easiest thing in the world. She got slightly... jumpy at nighttime. Though she would try to her best to cover it up. As Venice made the little comment about liking to look at the stars, the redhead couldn't help but laugh a little. It was more like a snort, than a laugh, but she couldn't care less if she sounded like a pig. She had never been one to be self-conscious. " You're right. I find them utterly boring." She was referring to the stars, no doubt, and she meant what she said. 100%. The little smirk that played on her mouth widened, though it wasn't so much a smirk anymore. It was more of a smile. She was genuinely amused by Venice's next words. She found them quite hilarious, though they weren't fully true. She would go to hell and back denying this, but she actually enjoyed company. Any company, to be specific. She had grown lonely, as she had lived on her own from the day she was twelve. The smile on her lips dried slightly as she remembered the day. Happy birthday! Now get out. Oh, what a nice birthday present. The best birthday ever! She shook the damned memory to the back of her head with the smallest flick of her head, and the amused smile was back, taking its reign on her face. " I was bored. And idle minds are the devil's playthings." Or something like that. She was being sarcastic, again. Though, this time, it was more of a dig at other people, the naive ones. [/classy]

Perhaps it was just the differences in their outlooks on life, or the walls they put up around each other. Venice always seemed to be more open around Jared for example, but not so much around Aurore. Of course, that might just be because she wasn't sleeping with Aurore, but still. The way Aurore came off just annoyed her to no end, the only thing that saved Aurore was the fact that Venice knew that's not how she actually felt about everything that was going on. With other people, it was usually the opposite. They said all these nice things but that's not how they actually felt. With Aurore, well, she probably just had some walls up. She wasn't exactly trying to be a manipulative bitch all the time like most teenagers were. "You're right. I find them utterly boring." Venice nodded with a smirk. because she knew she was right. Her power gave her a better understanding of people, probably even more so if she actually thought to think more. However, Venice was simply lazy. She couldn't care to understand people more than whether they liked her or not. Friend, enemy, or lover, and that's it. Most were the first or last, as she simply didn't care enough about people to be an enemy. If a friendship screwed up, she'd simply stop talking to that person and move on with the rest of her life, and that person would go back to being a stranger, not an enemy. "I know you well," Venice commented, her blue eyes drifting back to the stars. "I was bored. And idle minds are the devil's playthings." Venice had to smirk more at that, her eyes not leaving the skies. "Because you're obviously concerned about the devil," she muttered, shaking her head. Aurore was just being all fancy with her words, another quality in Aurore that the blonde didn't necessarily like. She liked everything to be simple, why bother complicating and confusing people? No, it wasn't like she was bored.. really, it was just that she hadn't slept in a good twenty-four hours, and now the lack of sleep was getting to her head. Rora liked to think that she could function well on no sleep at all, and it wasn't like she would fall apart, but she got sort of... odd. Rora pushed her red locks out of her face, and ventured a sideways glance at Venice. Quite frankly, the girl confused her to extremes. She also had the knack of making Rora feel slightly uneasy. She didn't like that her feelings weren't her own anymore. Being a very independent seventeen year old, it made her squirm to think that someone else had access to her privacy. You couldn't blame her, really. Name one human who would actually like to have their emotions analyzed. Returning her green gaze to the stars, she repressed another yawn, this time out of boredom. Nighttime wonder was completely lost when it came to her, and she would much rather spend it partying than staring at the freaking sky. Another thing that frustrated her about Venice : they were totally different. Considering, it made no sense as to why she hung out around her. I know you well. A light laugh escaped from her lips. That could, possibly, be the case. Seeing as they were polar opposites, it wasn't that hard to figure out what Venice liked or didn't like. She usually just switched around her likes and dislikes. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Because you're obviously concerned about the devil. The redhead flashed a wicked smirk at Venice, once again training her green gaze on the girl. She was absolutely right with that statement. " You're right. You do know me well." Blinking, a thought hit her hard as if it would have smacked her across the face. Rora doubted that Venice was any more concerned about the devil than she was. Huh. There was one thing they had in common. " The devil is no concern of mine. And I'm guessing you feel the exact same way. We are more alike than I thought." Rora was thinking aloud now. But she didn't really care. That's where sleep deprivation got you, right? She flashed a little wink towards Venice before returning her gaze to the boring-as-hell stars. [/classy]

[/classy][classy=cont] [/classy] [classy=threader] Venice leaned back and arched her back, stretching it. She had been sitting there for so long that her muscles were getting stiff. She was starting to feel it in her legs now, that run seemed like it was ages ago even though she still hadn't gone inside after it. That was the worst part, resting up and feeling the stiffness and soreness after all the exercise. Today was going to be a nice normal night for her, compared to others. She wasn't going to let herself throw her body at anybody and she wasn't going to drink or take anything. She was simply going to go back to her dorm and actually do her homework before sleeping. Or at least that's what she planned. Knowing Venice, that's not how the night would turn out, especially if Aurore was going to be involved. "You're right. You do know me well." Venice nodded and finally looked back over to Aurore, her blue gaze meeting Aurore's green gaze as she spoke again. "The devil is no concern of mine. And I'm guessing you feel the exact same way. We are more alike than I thought." She had to laugh at that. The blonde hadn't been speaking seriously when she was talking about the devil. And on that note, there was no way in hell that she and Aurore were alike. "Yeah, I mean, we both breathe and go to school here and have boobs, so obviously we're more alike than you thought we were," Venice said sarcastically, rolling her eyes. Obviously she was making fun of Aurore for thinking that something as general as not caring about the devil could bring them closer together. It couldn't, because the blonde had far too many walls up. "Really, though, shouldn't you be bugging somebody else?" Venice asked with a smirk on her face, her eyes looking back to the stars. When she really wanted to be mean, she could be. That's what kept her from getting close to people, as soon as conversations turned a way she didn't want them to, her bitchy side came out. Or in Aurore's case, apparently it was almost always out. [/classy]

You could only stare at something for so long. She brought a hand up to examine her red painted nails. Typical girl behavior. She didn't mind sitting her, really. It was better than he dorm room, which was boring as fuck. Her mind wandered slightly to the kidnapping. A shiver made its way up her spine, as she thanked whatever was up in the sky that it wasn't herself. Typical Rora behavior. Looking out for her butt before feeling sorry for others. She did feel bad for them, she just didn't really show it. Looking down at her lightweight black tank top, another sigh made its way out of her lips. What to do, what to do? Not that she didn't enjoy Venice's cheerful company, she just didn't really want to sit her for hours. Quite frankly, she hadn't had an exciting moment since she had come to this wretched place. At least back home she was kept on her toes every waking - or sleeping - moment. Here, she could basically do whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted, and she wasn't really used to it. She burst into a little fit of giggles when Venice compared the two. She didn't really know why it was that funny. Must be how late it was. She knew her words were meant to be rude, and they were, but she just brushed them lightly off her shoulder. " Quite truthfully, there is no one else to bug. Everyone's either sleeping, sleeping with someone, or partying. And you know how I hate the crowds." She was being sarcastic, of course, and she was kind of mocking Venice's earlier statement of I know you well, but she honestly didn't give a damn whether or not she took it to heart. Which, knowing Venice, it probably wouldn't. [/classy]

[/classy][classy=cont] [/classy] [classy=threader] The kidnappings were another reason that Venice was out here and not partying or with someone else. She was afraid, especially since not much was known about the whole issue. Plus, she was actually friends with some of the people who were gone. Jared, for example. They were extremely close, if only because they hooked up a lot. Venice had thought that she would be okay and they'd come back, but she had actually tended up being more worried than she thought. Perhaps it was the emotions she was sensing from others as well. Venice wasn't sure, and she wasn't really sure about how Aurore felt about the subject either, but probably the same as others. Creeped out by the whole situation, but glad it wasn't her sort of thing. That's how Venice felt as well. Venice was still unsure why Aurore was still there. It was kind of a bitchy thought, but she didn't really feel like dealing with Aurore's shit that day. She only had a little bit of time before curfew as it was, and the last thing she wanted to do with it was waste her time with a bitch like Aurore. The redhead started giggling at Venice's words, which really just annoyed her more. "Quite truthfully, there is no one else to bug. Everyone's either sleeping, sleeping with someone, or partying. And you know how I hate the crowds." She nodded and sighed. "Maybe you should go sleep. With or without someone. And no, I'm not offering," she added the last bit a little coldly. At this point, she just wanted to get rid of Aurore, as awful as it sounded. [/classy]

HELL HATH NO FURY A slight grin wrapped itself around Rora's face. She didn't know why she was smiling, to be honest. She just was. Yet another sigh flew out of her lips and she lowered her torso so she was lying on the ground, staring once again at the sky. A yawn stretched her face momentarily, before it was set into that small little smirk that rested on her mouth.
Maybe you should go sleep. With or without someone. And no, I'm not offering. The little smile stretched wider, and she ventured a glance at Venice.
"Sleeping is overrated. With or without someone."
She didn't really like to sleep. Her voices dominated the dreams that haunted her. They placed images of people she trusted running towards her with some kind of weapon. One night it was a sniper, the next a carving knife. One way or another, the disease made her cower in her sleep.

Aurore was one of them. Aurore's emotions confused her, as did her words. It was just better to leave her and be done with it sometimes. "Sleeping is overrated. With or without someone." The blonde shook her head, not even knowing what she was talking about. The blonde couldn't tell if Aurore meant sex sleeping or sleeping sleeping. If it was the first, well, obviously Venice disagreed. If it was the latter, Venice agreed. She hated sleeping, if only because she could never actually fall asleep without having nightmares. The blonde stood up, looking down at the other girl who was laying on the ground. "So, I'm gonna go. You amuse yourself with the sky or some bugs. I really don't want to deal with your shit right now," Venice said with ice in her words. Sometimes Venice was just really mean. She knew how words could hurt people, but she didn't care when it came to people like Aurore who annoyed her to no end. "Bye, bitch," she added with a little wave, a smirk forming on her lips as she turned around and sauntered back to her dorm. [/classy]
