19. SNARKY. PASSIONATE. HOMOSEXUAL. SINGLE.
[classy=appdesc]Oh, hey New York! Look who's it is! It's Matthew Alexander Cross! Oh, uh... perhaps you know them by their nickname, Matt? Anyway, this certain blessing in disguise came to us on February 14th, and grew up to be a hefty six feet. You can always tell it's Matt because of their bown hair, sea blue eyes and impeccable fashion. Not to mention they've gotten themselves one tattoo! You know, everyone says they look like Chris Colfer? I personally don't see it though ....

[classy=app1]The fat lard of a principal looked over his papers with a rather disinterested attitude. He noticed you sitting down, but doesn't really have the courtesy to look up from his desk. To you, he says out loud. "Let's begin sha'll we? Tell me the basic details about yourself." With a cough, he shuffled through is papers and glanced at you once through his small eye glasses.
Matthew was not impressed, that much was obvious. He sat lounged in his seat, one knee over his other, hands in his lap. This interview was dumb; he could be working on a new song or on next year’s fashion. Instead, he was being interviewed for this stupid school. Reminded of his mother’s chiding words to be helpful, the teenager responded with a sigh. ”My name is Matthew Alexander Cross, though most people shorten it to Matt. Don’t even think of calling me Matty unless you want me to burn all of your clothes and force you to walk around in a snuggie.” Was he serious? You bet your ass he was. ”I’m nineteen years old and am a senior. Yes, I do realize that I’m old for a senior, but I don’t think that’s really any of your business, now is it?”
Hey. This was nice for him.
With a sigh, he leaned back in his chair, threw his glasses on the desk and ran his chubby fingers through thinning, greasy hair. He pinched the nose of his bridge and closed his eyes tightly as he said, "You know about the truth of this place. Now, I didn't invite you personally, my staff did. So please, give me a run down of your power." With his eyes still shut, the principal gestured with one arm toward you to begin.
God, the Principal didn’t even know what his power was? At his own school? Seemed pretty lax to him. What if something bad had happened? Nevertheless, the teenager sat up. ”Geokenises, the power over earth. So far it includes everything from plants to the ground itself. I can grow plants and things like that with a thought.” Matt smiled a bit. ”I can also work with the Earth. When I’m angry, tiny earthquakes seem to happen. It really isn’t all that interesting, to be honest. At least I’ll never have dirt in my clothing.” And that, really, was all Matt cared about. ”I found out about it when I was ten. My older brother knocked me down and I got really angry. All of a sudden rocks were flying through the air and I wasn’t even touching them! It was too weird. Rather amusing, though.”
Finally, his eyes opened groggily. However, he wasn't much warmer. He yawned loudly and largely as he looked over your paper. With eyes watery and face red he continued, "I see why we would have invited you. Let's see..ah yes. Mind telling a bit about your family and where you're from?"
Matt nibbled his bottom lip, trying to think about what to tell the principal about his past. Not much, since he wasn’t all that interesting, but whatever. ”Well, I was born and raised in New York. It’s the grandest place on Earth except for maybe Paris. My father died when I was really young, maybe four or five, and Mom has been raising my two brothers, Tristan and Mark, and I ever since. She works in fashion, probably why I love it so much. I had a pretty normal childhood, going to school, though I did lots of singing lessons.” Matt frowned a bit, tracing a patter on the scars on his wrist. What else to tell? ”I’m gay. I was bullied a lot. I got over it. Nothing really interesting has happened, except for maybe coming here. I was in an… accident last year, which is why I’m older than most seniors. But that’s really it. Nothing interesting here.”.
While you were talking, the principal had made himself comfortable by leaning back in his chair and intertwining his fingers. "Hmpf. You should fit right in. May I ask, what are your plans in the future? Outside of AMG?"
Now this was something Matt could get into. His whole face lit up and he leaned forward, eyes shining. ”After I get out of this hellhole, I’m going back to New York. I’ve been accepted at Julliard, and this is just the start of my big career. You see, I plan on being the next big star on Broadway, with my amazing voice and acting skills. I’ve been scouted before, you know.” Matt was incredibly smug about this, and it showed. He sat back in his chair with a satisfied look, absolute confidence radiating off of him. Oh, Matt wasn’t short on ego, that’s for sure. ”I also plan on opening a fashion line, since one as awesome as me just has to tell others how stupid others look and fix it.” And yes. Matt was serious about this.
He looks much more interested now, rather awake and in a slightly better mood. "Tell me, do you have any hobbies?" he inquired, creating soft jazz hands at the word 'hobbies' as if to mock it. "You're aware that it may be difficult to continue these on the island, as you may not leave outside of break?" It was more of a statement than a question.
”Well, singing, obviously. I’ve been singing since I can remember. Mom tells me that the first words I spoke was actually the perfectly in tune words of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”. I adore it. I have an absolutely amazing voice, you will be blessed to hear it all over the radio here in a couple of years.” Matt said with a smile. ”I also love fashion. I enjoy dressing other people up and taking them shopping. And to answer your obvious question, yes, I am gay. I like skinny jeans, tight clothing, and damn do I look good in it. I also have a good eye for other people to. If you ever have fashion needs, come to me. I’ll be sure to help you so you don’t make others’ eyes bleed.”
The principal crossed his fat arms and leaned on his desk. In a much more serious tone, he asked, "Be honest, child. How do you feel about all of this...supernatural stuff?" his shoulders shrugged as he said it.
"Unnatural?" Matt frowned. He hadn't really thought about it, actually. To him, it seemed rather... second nature. "I suppose having a power is definitely unusual. But, then again, being a gay diva is too. So are violet eyes, girls that aren't anorexic, and good music. Why should I challenge it?" Matt pushed a strand of hair out of his eyes. "Plus, I rather enjoy it. It's fun, and since I haven't had any problems with it, I really don't mind it."
He leaned back on the chair that squeaked under his weight. "I see. Personally, I have mixed feelings. Anyway, we're finished now." The Principal grunted loudly as he got up to shake your hand. "It was a pleasure meeting you, do you have any questions for AMG?" he added, as he let go of your hand and buzzed the receptionist to lead you out.
Matt shook his hand with a shake of his head. "No, thank you." Good thing that was over. Maybe he would be able to get in that singing lesson after all.
