Never. But now, all of a sudden, she was being called to a teacher's classroom for a problem with her homework? Of all things to get in trouble for. It was homework. She tried to remember having done something wrong, but nothing came to mind. She couldn't think, for the life of her, what fatal error she had made. And it was not just any teacher that wanted to see her, either. Oh, no. It was her fire-breathing, poisonous dragon of a chemistry teacher. She hated that man with passion of fifty hormonal teenagers face-to-face with their favorite boy band singer. Do they even have boy bands anymore? Jane didn't know. Whatever. She hates him a lot, okay. Especially considering he called her to his office for no good reason. She had other things to do. Like homework for teachers who weren't going to chew her out for it. Honestly. How badly can you screw up homework that you need to be spoken to about it in private? By the time Jane got out of her room, it was becoming increasingly windy outside. She was glad she had thought to put her hair up in a ponytail. She hugged herself against the cold, but didn't return to her room to grab a jacket. She was late as it is, and eventually it should have died down. She felt bad for her poor exposed toes, though. It took Jane several minutes to work out that in order to get to Jimmy's office, she had to go through the main office, but when she finally got there, she took her time pretending she was completely clueless and looking for his office. She had to admit that she was a little bit nervous. she had never had to talk to a teacher before. Not by their request, anyway. And not for anything like a problem with her homework. Finally, she stepped inside and instantly remembered that she had forgotten her dry-erase board. Communication was not going to be easy. Jane figured that she might just sign at him until he sent her away. She stood uneasily in the doorway, looking around blankly, waiting for some sort of indication of what to do. To avoid looking completely lost, she signed, "You wanted to see me about my homework, Jimmy? Jane, surprisingly, had no problem using a teacher's first name. after all, they were just people too. and your hair never falls in quite the same way |
