Anyone that looked at him can tell that he was. For once in his life, a scowl was gracing the blonde's features, replacing the smile that was normally on his face. It was hard to find Wren without a smile on his face and even rarer to find him with a scowl on. If anything, the only reason Wren would not smile was to exaggerate his emotions, something he usually did. More so around his girlfriend. It was funny too, seeing as Massy was an empath and was able to sense emotions. Anyway, Wren was in a bad mood because of his sister. Lani had called Wren up and told him to stop with the candy addiction. So there he was, watching television in his dorm and eating his problems away. Normally, Wren would be eating candy when he was in a bad mood, which was the reason Wren first started getting hooked to sugar, but no, his sister had to stop him. As much as Wren didn't want to, Wren listened to his sister's commands. He didn't know why, he just did. Maybe because of how much respect he had for his older sister, who was basically the one who made money for the family, seeing as his mother retired and all. So instead of eating candy, Wren was eating ice cream. It didn't count as candy. Did it? He didn't think so. There was a list on the headboard of his bed, listing all kinds of candy and chocolate that his sister had faxed to him. Wren didn't see no ice cream on it so he decided it was fine. Changing the channel, Wren's scowl lightened to a mere pout, even though one could still feel the angry aura around him, it didn't show as much. He began to think of how he acts like a teenage girl, sitting in his dorm eating ice cream while watching chick flicks. Hey, it's not his fault that there was nothing else on tv.
Dipping his spoon back into the jar of ice cream, Wren lifted it back up to find that there was no more. Great. Just great. The blonde got up and walked over to the fridge, tossing the empty jar into the trash can while he scavenged the fridge for anything... sweet. One way or another, Wren was going to try finding a loop hole to this whole no candy nonsense. Taking Wren away from candy was like taking a crackhead away from his pot. It was like taking Pooh away from his honey. It was unspeakable behavior. Wren closed the fridge door, holding a can of Pepsi and was about to walk back to his bed when a yellow note caught his eye. BONFIRE TODAY!. Ugh. Great. Another thing to dampen his day. More or less. Truth is, Wren was actually pretty excited for this whole bonfire thing. He gets to spend the night with his girlfriend, of whom nobody but a couple people know about, his best friend, and his best friend's... Girlfriend? Wren didn't really know, but he often teased Jace about it in return of all the Massy teasing his best friend does to him. Although Wren knew that he shouldn't really be defensive since he and Massy aren't... Dating, in public, Wren still put on a strong front. As if he was denying anything that was there. His mood brightened up a bit when he thought about the bonfire. Taking his Pepsi, Wren looked at the time. 4:00pm lit the digital clock, that gave him an hour before the designated time. The boy looked at himself, he hadn't even taken a shower yet. He was in a bad mood the whole day, waking up to a phone call from his sister. It was rude and uncalled for. Wren's sugar intake wasn't high. Of course it wasn't and his teeth were perfectly fine too. No cavities. Wren had gone to the school nurse frequently in the past month, thanks to his friends' constant worries about his health. All the nurse said was Wren needed to balance his diet, try to cut off sweets as much as he can. Now he can't even have one stupid tootsie roll. The blonde walked over to his closet and grabbed his planned clothes, heading off to the bathroom to take a shower.
His shower lasted roughly thirty minutes, which was him just standing there in the hot water thinking most of the time. Walking out of the bathroom after changing, Wren headed straight for his phone, glancing at the clock. 15 minutes till. "aye guys. beach soon! whoever was in charge of food... no candy. .___." That text was sure to give all three recipients a surprise. Wren Ryder Anderson asking for no candy. What a shocker. Goofing around for a bit, distracting himself by going back to watching television, when the clock hit five, Wren grabbed his backpack and left. While walking, Wren thought about what would happen. Surely, smores would be an exception right? Then his thoughts lingered around Massy and Jace. He had never really seen the two interact before but Wren knew they were friends. Close friends? He didn't know. It was sort of awkward how Wren got so overprotective over Massy, and to his best friend too. Wren's defense was that he promised Massy's brother not to let any guy near her. Which was a lie. More or less. The last time Wren talked to Massy's brother, the older man looked about ready to kill Wren, threatening to beat him up and do possibly even more terrifying things to him if he hurt Massy. He was so focused in his thoughts that Wren didn't even know that he was in the beach until the cool sea breeze slapped him across the face. The cool wind surprised him, making him light up in bright orange flames. Flames that died out just as soon as they came. Was he the first one there? He looked around and walked to the spot he and Jace agreed on. Just the other day, the two boys were in the beach picking a spot for this particular day. It was a rather awkward day, no matter how comfortable Wren was around Jace. Rolling his eyes, the boy fished out a beach towel and laid it on the floor. There was a beach blanket in his backpack too but he was going to need everyone else's stuff to hold it down because of the wind. Thank god the sun was out and shining hard. It must have been around 80 degrees that day, pretty high for New York weather and the sun didn't exactly help cool the day. [/style]

Quite peacefully, might I add. Picture this: a blonde boy wearing nothing but a pair of Superman boxers, sprawled out precariously on his bed. His bare feet were hanging off one end, and his head nearly off the opposite end. The picture of teenage normalcy if you didn't count his wings, that is. He had been sleeping for quite some time, though when he would wake, the inevitable 'but I just closed by eyes' thoughts would be there. The cause of his sleepiness was his lack of sleep. Imagine that. He had barely slept the night before, seeing as he had a huge test he was studying for. He was now positive that the teachers manly wanted him to suffer drastically from the overload of homework. Anyway, he felt the need to take a nap, and here he was.
And then he was quite rudely woken up by his phone, blaring "I'll Make a Man Out Of You" from Mulan. Which was his ringtone for whenever Wren called or text Jace. He had thought it was very funny, at the time, but now he was just irritated. See, Jace is a very deep sleeper, getting lost in a dream, but it doesn't take much to wake him up. And "MYSTERIOUS AS THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOOOOON" was just enough for him to bolt out of bed, nearly falling off it. He made this sound of extreme suprise, which sounded suspiciously like a scream, but he wouldn't admit that anytime soon. He was a manly man, and manly men don't scream.
Moodily, the boy punched a button on his phone and glared daggers at the text that he had received from his friend. At first he was as confused as they come. Beach? Wtf for? Liiightbulb. He remembered suddenly, and he was instantly in a better mood. It just took him a bit to wake up, that's all. Then he was in perfectly good spirits. Good enough to smirk at the next sentence Wren had typed. Something about no candy. Wren Anderson? No candy? You must be jesting! Suddenly, he remembered the thing about his sister. And just because he felt like it, Jace was planning on bringing every bag of candy he could scrounge up before this little event.
Untangling himself from the mess of sheets, Jace stood and stretched, making that little noise that everyone made when they stretched in the back of their throats. Come on, don't deny it. With a giant yawn, he padded over to his closet, and selected a pair of jeans and a odd-looking shirt with some creepy guy on the front. Why do I even have that shirt? When did I even get that shirt? He brushed the thought off and dressed quickly and then proceeded to make his way over to the little cabinets that held all his food. He knew he had a bunch of candy in the back of one of the drawers, from the days when Wren would rummage around anywhere for some candy. The good ol' days... they were gone. After about the fourth cabinet, he found the stash, and stuffed it all in his bag, not even bothering to look at what he was putting there.
He decided to not worry about hiding his wings, seeing as it was just Massy, Wren, and Noah. All of them probably wouldn't care. Or stare open-mouthed. Slipping on a pair of flip flops, he made his way to the door, and, with a backwards glance at his dorm, he flipped off the light and closed the door, not bothering to lock it behind him. He didn't really bother to care about thieves or anything. He never did. Slinging his backpack on his shoulders, he started on his way towards the beach, humming to himself. He was anticipating Wren's reaction to the load of candy he was lugging with him with a snicker.
A couple minutes later, he arrived at the beach, and instantly spied Wren. Was this deja vu, or had Jace done experienced something very similar to this? And then he remembered the other day, and almost burst into a fit of laughter. That was a crazy day. As much as Wren knew about him, he couldn't figure out if he was into Massy. She was great, and all, but she was more of a little sister to him, and, somehow, Wren couldn't see that. Which was insane. With a shake of his head, he continued to meet his best friend, smiling brightly. Chuckling, he noticed the other boy's sour face with a high level of amusement. "Nice to see you're in a good mood," he greeted, his voice dipped heavily in teasing sarcasm. all i can breathe is your life when everything's meant to be broken [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] MISS YOU TODAY !
Maslynn, by her nature, was not typically a forgetful person. She had always been very strict on herself, concerning punctuality, timeliness, and staying organized. In fact, she couldn't remember a time in her life--not a single time--when anything had been more important to her than general orderliness. Not even her brother.
But today she slept in. She missed her alarm. Maslynn Roy missed her alarm and was late getting up. Of course, she didn't miss school or anything. After all--she had only been taking a nap. Everything was so exhausting lately! But none of that mattered to her. She had slept in. And she had somewhere to be! Oh, God, now she was going to be late.
I'm like the bunny in Alice in Wonderland. Oh, my. I hope I don't make everyone upset. I hope I'm not the last one there. God, I didn't even want to go to this stupid thing. I hate fires. Especially the open sort guarded only by four teenagers, one of whom is quite flammable. Oh, God, this is not safe.
She frowned, sitting up and running a hand through her hair. She needed a shower. (Even though she took one that morning.) Did she have time for one? Of course not. And she couldn't be late. She swung her legs over the side of the bed and walked, groggily, over to the bathroom to fix her hair. She was glad that her roommate liked to keep the room clean. Lord knows if she was rooming with Evan or Jared she'd be stepping on squishy unidentifiables and leggos left and right. But no injuries thus far.
She braided her hair into two pigtails within minutes, her hands flying around the twists of blonde hair. She tied them both with blue elastics, then brushed her teeth and carefully washed her face and applied her make-up. Though she was in a rush, it still took her a while to be sure that everything was perfect. She didn't put on much. After all, it was blazing outside and foundation would just melt off anyway. She put on a moisturizer with sunscreen, lipgloss, and mascara. The mascara was what took the longest.
Finally, satisfied that she looked okay, she went back out into her room to change into something not quite as suffocating as a sweater and matching pants. The outfit she settled on was . . . Well, she wasn't sure what it was. She was hardly paying attention to what she was doing.
Finally, the last thing to do was to pack her bag with all of the essentials. She darted around the room, first putting on her earrings and watch, then searching for everything she would need at a bonfire. She brought sunscreen (for the time while they waited for it to get dark), chilled fruit, her lip gloss, her camera, a towel, a swim suit, and chocolate. She had to be prepared for it all, right? At the last minute, she dumped in bug spray and a small first aid kit. By that time, her bag was pretty heavy.
She was just about to leave when she remembered two things. The first was her phone, and the second were her shoes. Back on the bed went the bag, and back into the closet went the Massy. She dug out a pair of flip flops that she was pretty sure were hers, slipped them on (they were), then grabbed her phone off of her desk. She had four texts from her brother, one from her mom, and one from Wren.
No candy, huh? She rocked back and forth on her heels, staring through her bag at the candy bar in it. (Not really, but she was pretending to.) Surely that wasn't restricted to candy for Noah or Jace, was it? She didn't want to dig all the way to the bottom of her stuff to dig it out. Maybe she would just leave it in the bag. But what if Wren found it? He knew it was weird of her to have candy, and she didn't want him mad at her. That wouldn't be good at all.
She finally decided that actually making it to the little gathering was more important than a dumb candy bar, and she left her room.
That took so long. You are hopeless, Massy. Why can't you just do things simply? Why do you need all of this stuff, anyway? And where exactly do you think you're going to change into a swimsuit if you happen to need it? You're ridiculous, she scolded herself as she walked.
Before she knew it, she had made it to the beach. She pressed her lips together and looked around for Wren. She found him, and Jace, too. Luckily, she wasn't the last one there. She walked over, but a few feet away, she dropped her bag so she could run over and hug Wren super tight. Massy didn't normally do things like that, but she figured she owed him since she had been such a pain in the ass about coming to the bonfire. She let go and smiled up at him shyly. "Hi, Wren," she said, turning her head quickly to add, "Hi to you, too, Jace." Massy's smile today was a real smile. A small one, but a real one. The part of her that wasn't terrified that something was going to go wrong was actually really excited for this bonfire. That, or the boys' energy was rubbing off on her.

She had been putting off moving but she knew that she was already late. The girl ran a hand through her hair looking around her side of the room. She had planned to clean it but had once again put it off until she needed to be somewhere else. Wading her way through the mess Noah pulled on a pair of converse and checked her appearance in a mirror. She ruffled her hair and pulled at the shirt she had put on earlier. Taking a deep breath she inspected her entire body. Noah was hoping that no one would decide that after it got dark the teenagers should go into the ocean. Noah's ribs were becoming more visible and she was starting to look painfully thin. No one had noticed yet. Noah had always been thin but since she had stopped eating again the girl would wear baggy clothing to make sure that no one would notice. Turning away from the mirror, Noah reached for her phone seeing that she had a message from Wren. Noah chuckled at the name she set for wren, 'thesugarmonster' Noah liked to give her contacts nicknames. She knew who each of them were and it was easier for her to find the contact. Noah smirked at the no sugar comment. When was Wren going to learn that if he told her not to do something because it would effect him then she was going to do it anyway? Noah threw her phone into her bag before reaching under her bed and taking out a box. She had a secret sweet box. Opening it, she started removing sweets from the box and putting them into her bag. She had bought marshmallows so that the group could have them at the bonfire. She would avoid eating as much as possible but she hadn't eaten a proper meal in a few days so that she could have some shmores that night. Noah placed the box back under the bed and picked up her bag from the bed and a can of red bull from the bed side table. Cracking it open she left the room, closing the door after her. Noah knew she was most likely the last one there. She had put off going to the bonfire for as long as possible. She sighed taking out her phone and texted Jace. 'you there yet? i'm on my way x' Noah only texted the boy to pass the time as she walked and sipped from the energy drink. She had been feeling faint and didn't have much energy so she decided a sugar rush might change that. Putting her phone back into her bag Noah walked a bit faster. She was looking forward to seeing the other teenagers at the bonfire. Massy was a good friend of hers and Noah treated her like a little sister, since her and Wren obviously had something between them Noah was ready to beat the crap out of him if he hurt her. Noah was secretly looking forward to seeing Jace. She still didn't know what was happening between them but it made her smile all the same. Noah reached the beach and walked towards her destination. She saw the trio and grinned. A chuckle escaped her lips at the site of Massy clung to Wren. Her bag was on the ground so Noah picked it up before walking closer. "Hey guys, I would say sorry I'm late. But I'm not sorry, so.." Noah smirked before poking Jaces arm and giving him a small wave.
