[atrb=border,0,true] One duty Zack held as Gage’s Best Bro and Roommate was that he had to assist in the smuggling of Gage and/or his girlfriend Rachel in or out of Castles. It wasn’t a bother at all, of course. Zack liked Gage and Rachel and even their daughter, Keeda, who was at an age that probably would have annoyed Zack immensely, had she been anyone else. But they all got along quite well, in reality, and it was actually quite exciting to be breaking the rules.
At the moment, the two boys were standing by the entrance to AMG, waiting for Rach to appear. It was ungodly hot outside in the sun, but in the shade where they had situated themselves, the breeze made it comfortable enough to stand for extended periods of time. The summer break began in a few days, but they’d decided that they’d have one more meeting together before they went their separate ways.
Thinking about Gage and Rachel made Zack miss Crystal. He didn’t know why he didn’t just drop out and follow her wherever she went. It wasn’t like there was anything at this school that could help him for the future. The whole thing was completely pointless and he would be out there in the world with Cryss than here in relative safety and comfort without her. She called occasionally, but not often enough to make him stop worrying about her. He missed her terribly. It was, after all, the first time he had to live without her since they were kids. He wasn’t used to that.
He didn’t like all the sappy thoughts, though. It wasn’t a good look for him.
Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter and, after offering one to Gage, took one for himself, put it between his teeth, lit it, and let the warm smoke fill him up. As he exhaled, he let the thoughts of Cryss float away with the smoke. It was a lot easier if he just pretended she wasn’t missing.
With his cigarette in one hand, he dug through the pocket that held his phone to check the time with his other. ”What time are they getting here, again?” |
Zack asked. Not that he minded just hanging out here with Gage, but it did get a bit tedious to wait for unspecified amounts of time. At least he had his cigarettes. That was what was important. [/div] conjure up a phrase WORDS: 416 | NOTES: I hope this is okay.

He didn't tolerate heat very well, that was certain. Especially today, when he was excited to see Rachel and Keeda. "Any minute now, my dude." he snapped, cranky from dehydration. Gratefully, he took the cigarette from Zack's stash and lit it up. With eager fingers, he put it in-between his lips and took a long, nasty drag, making the end of it glow a bright orange.
Smoking was Gage's least favourite habits. Not only was in demanding, it was expensive and he always got called out for it in public. And he couldn't smoke near Keeda anyway. He made a mental note to quit once he moved in with Rachel full-time. "Damn dog, it's hot out here, yo." he complained, as he thumped down on the cold ground. Even though they were in the shade, it was bothering Gage. He stuck his cigarette in his mouth and struggled to yank off his shoes and socks, with a real look of concentration on his face. At last, sweet relief, as his feet took in their own breathe of fresh air.
"Bahh." he groaned, as he made himself comfortable there on the ground.
The two of them there would have probably scared any people passing by. Perhaps that would explain why it was so deserted. Well, people were probably out on the beach or in the field being all teenager-like right now, in this weather. But Gage had something more adult like to do, and he was just thankful he had a bro like Zack who was down to help him with it. Besides, no one in their right mind would want to upset these two.
I mean, if you were passing by and saw two, tall, lanky, tattoo-ed covered guys, wouldn't you just turn right back around and go back where you came from? With Gage's near-physical-invincibility combined with Zach's ability to turn things into its opposite, you wouldn't want to get tangled up in this duo. Gage scoffed out loud at the thought. Man, Keeda's got some sick relatives.
He could just imagine now, the looks on peoples faces as he will drop her off at daycare, or birthday parties or whatever little kid things parents do nowadays. Gage looked toward Zack, eyes squinting because of the sun, "Excited to see Keeda?" he asked curiously.
