She sat on the sandy earth, jean shorts already wet from the waves that splashed her gently every couple of seconds. Toes digging themselves little caves into the sand, she surveyed her surroundings for what seemed like the billionth time. Yep, there was a storm coming. And a bad one, too. Adrenaline and excitement pumped through the fiery redhead's veins, a smirk lifting the corners of her lips upwards. Bright green eyes stared up at the angry clouds that blocked any sign of sky. She giggled maliciously, 'cause she had always loved getting caught in bad storms. It was the highlight of her boring life. The feisty lady stood slowly, the violent wind whipping her fiery locks to and fro. The voice implanted in her head from that damn disease screamed at her to run. No. That is what the old Rora would do. Not her, not today. Adventure was was this teenager loved, and adventure is exactly what she would get. If she ended up a tangled mess, dumped, forgotten, on the side of some forest, that was fine with her. It was all worth the moment of pure adrenaline that would coarse through her veins. A manic laugh escaped her upturned lips. This girl was crazy. No doubt about that. But she was herself, and she oozed confidence. She momentarily wished vaguely she had someone she could drag around with her on her insane adventures. The Robin to her Batman. But then again, who would want to hang around a crazy chick? [/classy]

That's all she had wanted to do, check out her new surroundings, but apparently she was going to get more than she bargained for. The wind had picked up suddenly, at first Kady had just brushed it off as the wind coming off the water, it was always windier by the water, right? Of course, at least that’s what Kady kept telling herself as she skirted the edge of the shore, eyes on the sand, lost in thought. Kady hated this, all of this, she shouldn’t be here, she should be at home, with her mother. Gushing over the latest insignificant thing in her once normal-ish life, sipping her favorite tea, and half watching some lame chick flick her mother picked out. That’s what she was supposed to be doing, but instead she was on some island at some school that seemed nearly unreal to her. Had it really been not that long ago that she knew nothing of all this? To Kady it felt like ages. Some small part of her though was grateful for this, grateful that it hadn’t happened in a different way. Sure, because of Kady her old school was no burnt almost to the ground, but no one had died and more importantly her mom was safe. Besides at least there was a school like this for people that needed it. At least here she wouldn’t have to worry about being out of control, after all they had to be used to that sort of thing, right? Suddenly the wind picked up even more and that’s when Kady knew she had over stayed her welcome on the beach. The storm was rolling in and here the petite girl was, out and about, trying to flee the vicinity as quickly as she could, kicking herself for not leaving sooner. However, just as she was leaving she spotted something, or rather someone. Did they not see the storm rolling in? Kady couldn’t just leave without making sure the person was okay, they should be inside like she should be. Hurrying over she stood a few feet away, “hey! You should get inside, the storm, come on,” she beckoned the stranger, wanting them to follow, but she made no move to turn, last thing she wanted to do was high tail it inside only to find no one had followed. Although it was better than the place she had so desperately escaped from. She had decided to make the best of it when she had arrived, and tried to humiliate the fat lard of a principal in any way she could. Turns out that ass was emotionless, as he didn't so much as bat an eyelash to the fiery redhead's witty statements. As she realized she was no longer alone, she searched for the other human presence. Who in their right minds would be out here during this storm? Well, she was.. but that's totally different. Her green eyes sought the other, and when she found her, this mischievous girl's lips flicked upwards into a sort of smirk. One totally innocent girl who wandered out here. How did she get out here, anyway? Fake. The disease spat mean words in her head. Pushing the annoying thing down, she grinned as an idea 'lightbulbed' into her head. She knew she could get in trouble, but what the hell, right? Rules are meant to be broken. Suddenly, the redhead was gone from the space she had been occupying. When she reappeared, she was walking right next to the girl who has spoken to her. Ahh, the joy of teleporting. With a wicked smile, she spoke. " What's the matter? Afraid of a little rain?" It was good-natured teasing, but it was teasing, nonetheless. Her words dripped with inevitable sarcasm, her favorite language. [/classy]

She had been stupid, foolish, and now she was about to get caught up in a storm. Fantastic. All because her conscious got the better of her, all because she wanted to make sure someone was okay. Kady was forever doing stupid things for the sake of others. The girl was far too gullible, far too trusting, far too caring, for her own good. Which is partially why she was in the situation she was in now. This case was definitely radically different though, probably far different than anything she could've expected. Kady was still getting used to the whole 'people have powers' thing. Quite frankly it still blew her mind a little. So when the girl she had been talking to suddenly disappeared Kady's eyes widened in shock, instantly she backed away, turning to head back the way she was going. Then, suddenly the girl was beside her. A squeak escaped the petite girl, taken aback by it all. Her mind couldn't quickly wrap around what had just taken place. How was that even possible? Then she remembered that a lot of things were possible now. A lot of things were entirely too possible. Kady distanced herself a bit from the girl for fear of contact " I-I'm s-sorry!" she stuttered, those nerves of hers getting the best of her. " We sh-should g-get inside" the concern in Kady's face was evident and the creeping urgency in her voice was barely hidden. Kady started to move forward, heading pack up the path toward the school, they had to leave. They needed to get inside before the storm really hit. Her only hope was that the red headed girl would realize that and follow. For some reason Kady just didn't think she had it in her to leave the girl behind. [/classy]

See, she looked kind, which was a concept this girl hadn't experienced much in her life. Her usual reaction to most every human was scorn, and mocking. Which, though it may surprise you, didn't bring much compassion her way. When Kady backed away from her, as if the fiery girl would bite, her green eyes narrowed, but not before a slightly surprised look reigned over her visage. She flashed a vicious grin directly at the girl who stood before her, seemingly scared as hell. The redhead vaguely wondered what she was frightened of - the storm or the girl. Kady looks innocent enough to her, but the persuasive voice in her head spoke vile words, yelling at how easily Rora had been manipulated by her stance. The redhead choked down a scream, a scream of defiance. No-freaking-way was the damn voice taking over now. Not after she had gone to such lengths to control the awfully influential and hypnotizing sound. When the girl who stood before her spoke, a mocking chuckle escaped her pursed lips. The whole 'maybe I should try to be nice' thought milling around in her head evaporated the instant she had flinched away from her. " Aww, live a little." The tone in the redhead's voice wasn't teasing this time, it was full on mean. Somehow, the usually lightly spoken words sounded like venom in her teeth, violently ejecting poison into the air. However she hadn't distanced herself from the girl from fear of her exactly, but more from fear of what she could do. Kady's second nature had no become to avoid contact with others, especially if she knew for certain they had power. Why? Because Kady didn't want it. The girl was terrified of copying a power, terrified she couldn't control it. Which was why the girl who used to hug anyone resigned herself to flinching away from others instantly. Honestly that was the only thing holding Kady back from grabbing the girl's hand and tugging at her to follow. Things were so much trickier now a days. When the girl spoke next, her words filled with venom all Kady could do was stare and blink. Had she offended her in some way? That was the last thing she had ever wanted to do. Kady was always so terribly mindful of others, so concerned, and for her to elicit a reaction like this from a stranger stung her. She was silent for a moment, then her jaw set and her brow furrowed, obviously puzzled. Kady looked down " I-I'm s-sorry if I of-offended y-you" she stammered, cursing herself for not being able to help her nervous stutter. The girl went quiet once more before looking back up, eyes on the redhead before her once more. A soft smile came to her lips, " we should r-really get to shelter th-though" Kady slowed her speech slightly, trying to enunciate, trying for the life of her not to stutter away. This was far from what she expected when she had decided to come to the beach. " Please?" her voice was twinged ever so slightly with near pleading. More than anything the teen wanted to be gone from the place, back inside already, but now there was no way she could allow herself to leave this girl behind. [/classy]

The wind that twirled around them continued to increase in speed, and the bright fiery red locks that fell from the girl's head whipped around her. To be totally honest, the weather was starting to bug her. She had not been in something this bad in a while, and she credited that to the fact that she had lived smack-dab in the middle of nowhere. Nothing interesting happened in her hometown, excepting when yours truly had been borne. The girl was just beginning to think maybe she should get inside... When the girl standing in front of her spoke again, apologizing, the vicious smile that played on her mouth vanished in the blink of an eye. So taken aback was she by the apology, she looked momentarily stunned, and the emotion showed clearly on her heart-shaped face. She's playing you..The small voice constantly nagging her from the back of her head hissed, obviously in disgust. The girl forgot herself for one moment, and rolled her eyes dramatically. Oh, shit. The hard mask of wickedness was quickly back on her visage, green eyes poisonous. However, there was a softer glint in them, different from previous glares. There was a small teasing look, a kind tease. The girl once again spoke, pleading for them both to find shelter. Hmm, seems she wouldn't give up anytime soon. Maybe, just maybe, it would be simpler for them both if she just agreed to leave. [Of course, she was just using this as an excuse. She really did want to get out of here. And, though she wouldn't admit in a million years, she was slightly worried for the other girl's safety. That was a first.] Finally, she relented. " And where do you suggest we go?" Okay, so it wasn't a total 'let's get the hell out of here!' statement, but her pride [and her voice] prohibited her from admitting that she wanted to go. Her tone, this time around, was still slightly sarcastic, but it had the same light tease that was now in her green eyes. [/classy]

If she hadn't been so determined to stick to her guns and not leave without the other girl there was little doubt that Kady probably would've already been nearly at her dorm already. The petite teen was not that kind of person though. She couldn't sit back and watch someone throw caution to the wind without thinking of the consequences. There just wasn't anyway she could do that. Relief secretly spread its way through Kady's entire body at the other girl's words. It was all she needed to hear to know that they were both now on the same page, getting out of there while they still could. The other girl implied a good point though. It was probably too late to make it back to the school before things really got bad, and it'd be dumb of them to try to make it. So then what? Just give up? No. Kady had come much too far to let something like a storm finish her off, her jaw set slightly in determination and dark eyes quickly started looking about. " There's g-gotta be something ar-round here to h-hide. Like s-some c-cave or under a c-cliff, s-something" she spoke fast in spite of her stutter, her mind starting to race, any minute it was going to send her into a ramble. Honestly Kady tended to think the worst in bad situations, her mind immediately going to worst case scenario when something happened. It wasn't something she could help though, she always worried, always let her thoughts carry her away. She was a bit of a spaz in that way. However that didn't mean she was exempt from moments of clarity, moments where she put on her 'big girl panties' and did what she needed to do. It's just that she usually panicked for a good while before that. [/classy]

AND THEN THERE WERE TWO Too be honest, nothing much scared Rora these days. Sometimes she wished she could get scared. But, seeing as she almost always had an out, she seemed immune to the feeling. If she got into immense trouble, she could merely teleport out of the place. So, she wasn't worrying to much for her own safety.
However, the girl who stood, terrified, before her sent a pang of an unusual feeling down in the pit of her stomach. She actually was afraid for her. Not for the first time, she wished emptily that she could take others with her when she moved from place to place, but it didn't work that way.
"Well, come on then."
Her words were not unkind, and, as she said them, she wrapped her fingers around the girl's arm and walked quickly in the opposite direction of the sea, pulling Kady along with her. She didn't usually haul someone's butt to safety, but the girl looked terrified. Who knows, maybe she'd go into a panic attack if Rora wasn't around. Hah. Keep telling yourself that, honey. Oh, shut up.
She continued with her walk, still keeping hold of Kady's arm, though she didn't, really, know why.

Entirely set to get out of there, to get to some sort of shelter. However things just could never seem to be that simple for Kady, there always had to be some sort of mishap. Naturally when someone grabs your arm tugs you along like a disobedient child you followed with little fuss. Which Kady did, except on her face was plastered a degree of horror that clear shown the shock running rampant through her system. Her dark eyes were glued to the girl's hand wrapped firmly around her arm, skin on skin. Kady stumbled along in a dizzied state, thinking only that she had to be dreaming. And then, when it finally all caught up to her she began to panic, " no! no, no, no, no!" she said in a worried tizzy. There was no way of knowing what the girl before her was capable of. No way at all, and if Kady's ability was holding true to itself... well then things would get interesting. It was like waiting for the axe to fall, the bomb to drop. All she could do was stumble along after the red head in utter panic and worry. Kady's biggest fear was hurting the girl by accident. She never had control of these things, that's why she avoided contact at all costs. But it was too late now. [/classy]

AND THEN THERE WERE TWO Aurore was, quite honestly, oblivious to any shock the girl she was towing was experiencing. She merely continued to half-drag her along, towards anywhere else. Glancing back at the girl, the look of sheer panicky horror that she wore, plain as day on her face registered in Rora's mind. Was she afraid of touching people? As in, a germaphobe? Could be, but that really didn't seem right. Why would she freak with a little contact? Her mind was at a stand still. She couldn't even begin to think what was making this girl scared to the point of this. "Uh, are you... okay?" She didn't let up on the girls arm, for fear that maybe she would run the other way. Wait.. why was she scared of that?
With a slow blink, she listened to the "no's" that repetitively came out of the girls mouth. What the hell was going on? She barely noticed that slight drizzle that came down on them, but did, however, notice that giant roll of thunder that seemed to shake the ground. This day was just getting weirder and weirder.
